FRIM (Forest Research Institue Malaysia)
We go from LDP toward MRR2, remember to keep left from the highway after the 1st flyover, else you will head toward Batu Caves and have to make a roundabout turn after long run.
The entrance is RM1 per head and RM5 per car. Note: The ticket for hanging bridge. Remember to buy it in the entrance. Else, you might like me to pay it on the spot. RM5 per person for 200 meters distance.
Exposure: Go up along the fall that is a very adventure path that actually can bring you to that road you go down from jungle trekking. We went up the half way and saw bigger waterfall but not dare to go up further because it seems like no path anymore. (but actually there is). When we going down, there are junction for you to choose. Directly going down will go though this waterfall (10 mins) while going to the right bring you farer journey (30 mins)
At the end, we took the car and drive along. After drive though very far, to our surprise, we come out to the entrance by another road. That end our journey.
Batu Cave and Dark Cave
after sweating out, we pack for a lunch. i ordered Kimchi fried rice and the portion is very big...very FULL...while i am driving, the other car group called "old lady" suddenly have a thought to go to Batu Caves-Preparation for their Combania trip at Angkor Wat (not sure sound correct) while we have to prepare for our Kota Kinabalu trip. Since we are not that old, we just decide to go there.
That is long time that I did not go to Batu Caves since secondary school. This round I have 4 round of climbing up and down in the total of 272 staircases. I think this is good to train my stamina before climbing mount Kota Kinabalu but the environment is not what I want simply because of the air condition there. I would prefer going to jungle trekking that provide u fresh air rather than there with the leftover of banana leaves, milk and the smell of monkey and dust. It make me uncomfortable...
When we make at 272 staircases, there are 2 lizard waiting for u (free touch and photograph) and 1 snake that only show face on and off.(very 大牌). When I walk along, wow, I saw a women (with long long white hair) that doing meditation inside the cave. Seems like her power already very high.
Right at 200 staircases, we realize there is one called "Dark Cave" but it costed RM35 for educational trip which last about 30 mins or Adventure trip which last about 3 to 4 hours but costed RM50. Adventure trip needs to has long slip shirt and pant. Since we does not have this kind of preparation (physical and mentally), we decide no go. But KK is so keen and insist want to go next week for the adventure DARK cave trip. Will see how....
